Another important reason for the decision is that 6 km jumps require more preparation than jumps from 2 km and 4.5 km.
When we have had 6 km tandem jumps mixed into a regular jump day, it has affected the flow quite a bit. It takes longer, requires more coordination, and disrupts the way we can normally carry out tandem jumps effectively.
That doesn’t mean we won’t be doing high altitude jumps – quite the opposite.
But instead of having 6 km jumps spread out over regular days, we now choose to concentrate our high altitude activity into specific periods where we have full focus on HALO jumps.
In this way, we can plan better, assemble the right team, use the right equipment, and give guests the experience that high altitude skydiving deserves.
