Skydiving course in one week – take your AFF course at Dropzone Denmark

Tea Terkelsen, Canopy Piloting coach

Would you like to take a skydiving course where you don't have to wait for weeks between jumps, and where you can maintain both confidence and momentum throughout the training?

At Dropzone Denmark, we offer an intensive AFF course called Skydiver in a Week, where you complete your AFF skydiving training in a coherent and structured program with maximum progression. Here we combine teaching, jumps, and instructor support in one focused week, so you learn faster and more effectively than in a traditional course with long breaks.

Skydiver in a Week is for you if you want to learn to skydive in a serious and safe way, where safety is always the priority. You will have dedicated instructors throughout the program, daily jumps when weather permits, and continuous feedback that ensures each jump builds directly on the previous one.

It is the ideal way to get a strong start to your skydiving career – with a focus on learning, camaraderie, and rapid development in the air.

With the Skydiver in a week course, you will get:

✔ 1 full day of theory instruction
✔ 5 consecutive jump days
✔ 1–3 jumps per day
✔ Video feedback after each jump
✔ The same instructors all week
✔ A group with other students on the exact same journey as you
✔ Become an independent skydiver in one week

Skydiver in a week – intensive skydive training with maximum progression

Skydiver for a week at Dropzone Denmark is a coherent and intensive AFF course, where we consolidate the entire education into one focused week with full attention on our students and their development. During the week, we ensure that teaching, instructors, flight time, parachute jumps and ongoing feedback are closely interlinked, so you get the best possible learning experience from start to finish.

The goal is to give you a strong and safe start to your skydiving education, where you avoid long breaks between jumps and maintain both confidence and progression. This way, you can develop quickly, safely, and effectively – with a solid foundation for your further parachuting career.

You start the week with theory alongside a group of up to 11 other students. When it is time for us to jump, the group is divided into smaller groups of 2–4 students, and each group has its own dedicated instructor team. This means that during the course, you will be able to experience:

✅ safety
✅ strong camaraderie
✅ continuous feedback
✅ faster learning

Thorough theory and practical instruction before your first skydive

Before you undertake your first skydive, the process begins with a whole day dedicated to thorough instruction and practical preparation. This day is designed to provide you with the necessary foundation so that you feel safe and ready before you take the first step into the air.

We will cover all the theory and knowledge you need as a student on a skydiving course, including safety, emergency procedures, and the key principles for acting correctly in different situations. You will also learn how to achieve the right body position in freefall, how to create stability and control, and how to fly and land the parachute safely in varying wind conditions.

You will learn among other things:

  • safety and emergency procedures
  • correct body position in freefall
  • stability and control
  • landing in varying wind conditions

Furthermore, we will work intensively on muscle memory through repetitions and practical exercises so that your movements and reactions become natural. The goal is that from your very first jump, you feel mentally prepared, well-informed, and ready to progress quickly and safely in the sport.

A safe learning environment with feedback and shared experiences

You learn not only through your own skydives and the feedback you personally receive, but also by following your fellow students' development throughout the process. When you share experiences, challenges, and progress, you gain a broader perspective on learning and can often recognise elements that can also help you in your own jumps.

This shared process creates a strong learning environment where you develop together, and it contributes to faster progression, greater understanding, and not least a significantly greater confidence in the air.

Briefing → Skydive→ Shared video debriefing

Each skydive in the AFF course Skydriver over a week follows a fixed cycle:

Briefing

What is the goal of the jump?

Skydive

You jump with two AFF instructors in freefall.

Debriefing with video

After the jump, we go through everything together with you and the group.

AFF course with daily jumps and rapid development

If the weather allows it, we typically carry out between 1 and 3 jumps a day during the week. The high jump frequency is one of the biggest advantages of an intensive AFF course, as it allows you to develop continuously without long breaks between jumps.

When you jump multiple days in a row, it means that you don't lose skills or have to “start over” mentally from one time to the next. Nervousness also doesn't have the same chance to build up over time, because you are constantly building on the experience and confidence you have already gained from the day before.

Each jump thus becomes a natural next step in your learning, where you can quickly translate feedback into improvements and feel your progress from jump to jump.

This means that:

  • you do not lose skills between jumps
  • nervousness does not have a chance to build up over time
  • each jump builds directly on the previous one

It is precisely this connection and continuity that makes an intensive AFF course one of the most effective and safe ways to learn to skydive.

The result: You will become an independent student in one week

When the week is over, you won’t just have tried skydiving; you will have laid the foundation to become a really skilled skydiver. After completing the Skydive in a Week course, you will have:

  • solid freefall skills
  • a good understanding of safety concerning a skydive
  • good control during the parachute descent
  • strong progression towards a skydiving licence

Skydive in a Week therefore gives you a serious, and frankly the best, start to your skydiving career.

What if the weather is bad?

Bad weather does not mean lost time.

We spend the time on:

  • package training (license requirements)
  • extra theory and safety briefings
  • questions and individual coaching

You will therefore receive a full parachute training – regardless of the weather.

How long does an AFF course take?

At Dropzone Denmark, you can complete an intensive AFF course in one week by signing up for a Skydiver in a week course.

Can you take a solo skydiving course as a beginner?

Yes – AFF has just been developed for beginners who want to learn to skydive on their own.

Many believe that they need to have tried a tandem skydivebefore they can start a skydiving course, but that is not the case at all.

You do not need any previous experience of skydives.

Hvad kræver det at starte faldskærmsuddannelse?

You must be physically and mentally fit to participate in an educational programme, be over 16 years old, complete theory and follow the instructors' program. If you are under 18 years old, it also requires permission from a parent/guardian in the form of a signature.

Får man et faldskærmslicens efter én uge?

No. At Skydiver in a week, you will not get a full skydiving license.

You will complete all the theory and instructor-heavy skydives in the AFF part of your training (the first 8 jumps).

If things go really well, you also have the opportunity to continue your skydiving training and possibly take some or all of your coach jumps.

A full skydiving license requires at least 25 skydives and a packing course.

So in short, you get the foundation and can continue as an independent student towards a full USPA A license.

Is a parachute packing course included in Skydiver for a week?

Yes and no. If the weather is not optimal for jumps during the week, we will definitely use the time to conduct a packing course.

However, it is important to note that the packing course is not included in the price of our package solutions for the skydiving training at Dropzone Denmark.

The reason for this is that the payment goes directly to the instructor who is responsible for the packing course itself.

The price depends on how many times you need to complete the course:

  • The first time costs 400 DKK
  • Each subsequent time costs 250 DKK

You should therefore expect a total cost of at least 650 DKK for the packing course.

How much time should I allocate for Skydiver on a week course?

You need to set aside the whole day for all the days your course takes place for the Skydiver in a week course. From 08:00 in the morning until sunset - every day.

So if your course is scheduled from 1st to 6th April, you should expect to be at the dropzone all those days from early to late.

What is an AFF course?

AFF stands for Accelerated Freefall and is the most popular way to become an independent skydiver.

An AFF course is a structured solo skydiving course where you learn:

  • stability in freefall
  • safety and emergency procedures
  • proper parachute opening
  • landing and canopy flying
  • to skydive without instructors in the long run

It is the start of your skydiving career – and the foundation for obtaining a skydiving license.
