But how much does it really cost to jump from thousands of meters above the ground with the wind in your hair and adrenaline pumping through your body?

Let's dive into everything you need to know about skydiving prices – and especially what to be aware of when comparing tandem jump prices across Denmark.

The costs of skydiving can vary significantly depending on several factors. From the basic price of a tandem jump to the costs of advanced training and equipment, there are many elements to consider. This article will guide you through the different aspects of skydiving costs so you can gain a clear understanding of what to expect financially.

It's certainly an activity that has higher costs than many other attractions or activities, but we promise it's worth every penny! It's an experience that can be both life-changing and enriching. But before you dive into this adventurous activity, it's important to understand what lies behind the financial aspects associated with it.

Skydive price in Denmark: What influences the price of a tandem skydive?

The price of a tandem jump can vary significantly – actually from around 2,195 DKK up to 14,995 DKK. It’s not just about finding the cheapest price, but about choosing the experience that suits you best. Here are the most important factors that influence the cost of a tandem skydive:

1. Location of the jump in Denmark

Denmark has several places where you can skydive – both in clubs and at commercial drop zones. The location can play a role in the price. Some places have lower prices, but you may need to travel far. Others offer unique experiences, such as Europe’s highest tandem skydive at Dropzone Denmark.

2. Club or professional skydiving center?

If you choose to jump with a skydiving club, the price is often (though not always) lower. The small difference in payment of wages and VAT between a professional center and skydiving clubs can sometimes result in a slightly higher price. However, you can also rest assured, knowing that you are in safe hands, with instructors who make their living from skydiving.

As the country’s only professional skydiving center, at Dropzone Denmark you can expect:

  • Professional instructors
  • Two locations in Jutland, in Herning and Sindal
  • The country’s widest selection of tandem jump heights
  • The largest parachute aircraft in Denmark = shorter waiting times
  • State-of-the-art equipment
  • High safety and comfort
  • Great flexibility in booking and rescheduling
  • Space for spectators with a view over the landing area
  • Opportunities for luxury experiences, such as a HALO tandem jump from 7.6 km

3. From what altitude are you jumping?

A typical skydiving price in Denmark covers a jump from about 3,000 to 4,500 meters altitude. But you can also choose to skydive from extreme heights – e.g., 6,000 or 7,600 meters (25,000 feet), which makes the experience much more intense (and naturally more expensive).

At Dropzone Denmark, you can choose a tandem jump from 2,000, 4,500 meters (Denmark’s highest), 6,000, or 7,600 meters (Europe’s highest).

4. Do you want video and photos?

If you want to capture your first jump with video and photos, it costs extra – but it’s worth the money! You’ll have memories for life and something cool to share on social media. Our experience shows that those who opt for the video package are most often glad they did.

Typically, a video package costs between 500-1,500 DKK. There are also different video packages to choose from, and the quality of the final product is something we recommend you check out before booking your jump.

Handcam Photo and Video Package

Here, a camera is on your instructor’s wrist throughout the skydive. The video will be somewhat like “selfie mode” but will cover the entire experience – both freefall and under the parachute.

Outside Photo and Video Package

With this package, an external camera flyer records your video with a camera on their helmet. This gives a dynamic video from multiple angles during freefall. When the parachutes are deployed, the external camera flyer has to fly away, so you won’t get footage of the parachute phase.

5. Which day would you like to skydive?

Some places offer lower prices on weekdays and slightly higher prices on weekends or public holidays when demand is higher.

With us, for example, you can automatically save 200 DKK by booking our most popular tandem jump from 4.5 km from Monday to Thursday.

It can definitely pay off to be flexible with the date if you want to save a bit on your tandem jump price.

How do you choose the right place to skydive?

For many, safety, flexibility, and comfort are much more valuable than a 500 DKK discount on the experience. So, when you're choosing the right place for your skydiving jump, here are some good tips:

  • Choose a drop zone with a good reputation and many positive reviews.
Check platforms like GoogleTrustPilot og TripAdvisor.

  • Consider whether you want a basic experience or something truly extraordinary.
Are you just looking to jump out of a plane, or do you have a minimum requirement for the free fall experience?

  • Look at the provider's website—does it seem reliable?

  • What facilities are available at the location?
Would you like access to a café where you can order food and drinks? Or are you fine with a homemade packed lunch and a water bottle?

  • See if there are many available jump dates to choose from.
The more dates, the better the flexibility for rescheduling in case of bad weather on the booked date.

  • What type of parachute aircraft is used at the location?
This affects waiting time and comfort. A larger aircraft means less waiting time and more comfortable seats. In a smaller plane, you may need to sit on the floor for 15-25 minutes before your jump.

The price of a solo skydiving course

If you become hooked on skydiving and want to learn to jump solo, there are courses and training available that will enable you to jump independently. These courses are offered in Denmark as Static Line, IAD (Instructor Assisted Deployment), and AFF (Accelerated Freefall) skydiving courses. All prices include the rental of necessary equipment such as the parachute, jumpsuit, and helmet.

Static line skydiving course

The amount of theory required before your first Static Line jump varies, but it can range from one to five days/evenings.

A Static Line skydiving jump involves your parachute being automatically deployed when you exit the aircraft from an altitude of 1000-1200 meters. Therefore, you do not experience free fall, and can focus solely on canopy flight and landing.

The average price for the first Static Line jump plus theory in Denmark is approximately 2,500 DKK. It is quite difficult to determine the total cost for a full license.

IAD (Instructor Assisted Deployment)

This training is offered at Dropzone Denmark for the military and requires only about 3 hours of theoretical instruction.

An IAD skydiving jump involves your parachute being deployed by your instructor, who is with you in the aircraft, when you exit from 1200 meters altitude. Like Static Line, you do not experience free fall and only need to concentrate on canopy flight and landing safely.

An IAD jump plus theory, along with the parachute gear in fabric and metal, plus a T-shirt, costs 2,495 DKK at Dropzone Denmark. If you wish to continue training to obtain a skydiving license, you can sign up for an AFF course and pay only 2,195 DKK for AFF Level 1.

AFF (Accelerated Freefall)

This training method is more modern and efficient than Static Line and IAD. You progress through the training faster and learn good skydiving habits from the very beginning.

The theory takes only about 5 hours on a Friday evening at Dropzone Denmark, after which you make your first AFF jump on Saturday morning.

During an AFF course, you will make your very first jump from 4,000–4,500 meters. Two experienced AFF instructors will be with you during the free fall to ensure your safety in the air. You will experience free fall from your very first jump and get the full skydiving experience.

The price for your first AFF jump (AFF Level 1) plus theory is 2,995 DKK, while a full license costs 23,495 DKK.

Skydiving price for certified skydivers

Sport jumpers are what we call skydivers who have obtained their license. The prices for skydiving jumps for them are somewhat different from those for tandem guests and students. This is partly because there are no costs for wages, airfield usage for instructors, equipment rental, etc.

All certified skydivers are welcome at our drop zone. It doesn't matter which certification you hold. However, our safety standards are high, so you must be prepared to follow the rules we have at our drop zone.

Sport jumpers can choose to purchase skydiving jumps individually or buy them in blocks (block jumps) of 10 or 25 jumps. In case of purchasing block jumps, they are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and cannot be refunded or shared among skydivers.
